RENO, Nev. – March 7, 2023 – Northern Nevada Legal Aid, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving qualified residents across Northern Nevada, will host its 13th annual “Voices For Justice” luncheon on Friday, April 21, at The Renaissance Hotel at One Lake St. in Reno. The event typically draws some 300 attorneys, judges, community leaders, and volunteers who gather in support of the legal aid organization.
The Voices for Justice event is in furtherance of Northern Nevada Legal Aid’s commitment to its clients across Northern Nevada and will expand its recognition of Northern Nevada Legal Aid’s efforts to give voices for justice across its many programs. “This year’s ‘Voices for Justice’ event will feature the amazing work of our Child Advocacy team as well as the equally important and exceptional work done by other Northern Nevada Legal Aid departments,” said Tara Zimmerman, an attorney and interim executive director of Northern Nevada Legal Aid. The organization re-branded from Washoe Legal Services to Northern Nevada Legal Aid in 2022 to expand regional awareness of the services provided, access to the organization’s services, and the understanding of its mission.
Northern Nevada Legal Aid supplies legal services to residents in Washoe County and surrounding counties in Northern Nevada, including Douglas, Churchill, Lyon, Storey, Humboldt, Pershing, and Carson City. The Voices For Justice Luncheon will feature a live auction and raffle where proceeds will directly benefit Northern Nevada Legal Aid and facilitate the organization’s mission to “provide experienced and diverse legal services to protect the essential needs of Northern Nevadans.”
